What’s in store for 2025?
For the first time at Edinburgh International Festival, House of Oz presents Orpheus and Eurydice like you’ve never seen before.
In collaboration with Circa, Opera Australia and Opera Queensland, we are thrilled to showcase Orpheus and Eurydice coming to Edinburgh in August 2025. Find out more.
We are currently supporting the production of three major documentaries. First, two documentaries showcasing Gravity & Other Myths and their success story, in collaboration with Kinescope Film. Who’s behind the scenes?
Georgie Black: founding patron and creative director.
Born in Sydney, Georgie divides her time between London and her home city. Formerly a barrister, she has turned her considerable tenacity, passion and brain power to her first love, the arts.
She works as an actively invested patron of the arts, impresario and executive producer. Georgie is married with two children. In her spare time, Georgie enjoys kickboxing, yoga, Tibetan Buddhism and experiencing as many cultural events as possible.
HOW ARE SHOWS SELECTED FOR PARTNERSHIP?
Georgie explains: “While we are proud to show the world just how mightily Australian creatives punch above their weight per capita, we interrogate work that comes our way to discover whether it meets our stringent criteria.
“Does the work tell an important Australian story? Is it quintessentially Australian? How well does it show off Australian talent? Is the work genre-busting, quirky, or otherwise genuinely engaging? Is the piece of a world-class standard, sitting comfortably at the level at which international venues, presenters and audiences have come to expect? Does the work, as a piece of art, move the dial, promoting change, educating, or raising awareness of a particular issue? If so, we’re interested!”
